⚔️ How to Worship the Gods

Worshipping a god in Valora isn’t just about choosing a name; it’s a commitment that requires offerings, rituals, and dedication. The more favor you gain, the greater the blessings you receive. However, if your favor drops too low, you may find yourself on the receiving end of the gods’ wrath.

Step 1: Selecting a Deity

1. Use the /deity select [DeityName] command to choose your god.
2. Your initial favor will be set to 50, and you’ll be ready to start your journey with that deity.

Step 2: Offering to the Gods

To increase favor, offer valuable items at your deity’s shrine:

• Offerings are made by right-clicking a shrine dedicated to your chosen deity while holding the appropriate item.
• Each god prefers different offerings. For example, Altharion values diamonds, while Ignathor seeks blaze rods and fire-related items.

Step 3: Performing Rituals

Rituals are an important part of maintaining your favor:

• Use /ritual [RitualName] to start a ritual aligned with your god.
• Rituals often require specific items or actions, like gathering resources or defeating creatures. For example, performing the Ritual of Storm Summoning will require feathers or a trident as an offering to Zephyros.

Step 4: Gaining Favor and Unlocking Miracles

• Favor increases through offerings and successful rituals. As your favor grows, so do your rewards.
  • Blessings occur when your favor exceeds 150, giving you powerful buffs like regeneration or fire resistance.
  • Miracles occur when your favor surpasses 210. These rare events can grant you items like Nether Stars or summon powerful allies like Iron Golems.
  • Curses are bestowed when your favor falls below 35. Beware the wrath of the gods!

⚠️ Beware the Wrath of the Gods

Worshipping a deity is a powerful choice, but it comes with risks. If you fail to maintain your favor through offerings and rituals, your deity may punish you with devastating curses, including:

• Wither
• Hunger
• Blindness
• Slowness

Renouncing your deity entirely will set your favor to zero, and re-following the same god will force you to start from scratch. Choose your deity wisely and ensure you hold up your end of the agreement!
