Cause: As paranoia deepened across Valora, and the threat of war became imminent, Malthor Crimsonclaw recognized the need to reinforce the family’s seat of power at Crimsonspire Keep. Fearing attacks from rival families and the encroaching corruption, Malthor sought to expand and secure the keep’s defenses.

Story:
In the growing instability of the Age of Divergence, the Crimsonclaw family began fortifying their ancestral seat, Crimsonspire Keep. While his father Dragan Crimsonclaw had originally laid its foundation, it was Malthor Crimsonclaw who took the next decisive step in expanding the keep. Under Malthor’s leadership, the walls were reinforced with thickened stone, additional watchtowers were erected, and secret tunnels were constructed for defensive tactics.

Understanding the threat of magical assaults, Malthor collaborated with Silverwater mages to weave protective enchantments into the stone itself, shielding the keep from arcane attacks. His efforts ensured that Crimsonspire Keep would be a fortress capable of withstanding both direct assaults and the growing external pressures from the looming corruption.

Outcome: The fortification of Crimsonspire Keep secured the Crimsonclaw family’s power and made the keep a symbol of strength. It became a central military hub during the Age of Divergence, a period marked by fear and rising tensions. Malthor’s efforts also laid the groundwork for his son, Vorthar Crimsonclaw, to later seize power violently and trigger the rise of the Shadowed God.
