Stormcallers

Deity Worshipped:
Zephyros, God of storms, wind, and the sea.

Overview:
The Stormcallers are a fierce and fanatical group of seafarers, mariners, and warriors who dedicate their lives to Zephyros, the Tempest Lord. They believe the true strength of an individual is shown through their ability to survive and thrive amidst chaos. The group invokes violent storms, summoning the wrath of Zephyros to destroy their enemies, with the goal of bringing the world under their god’s tempestuous rule.

Leadership:
The Stormwatch Captains, who are elite followers of Zephyros, lead the Stormcallers. These captains have been gifted with the power to command storms and can call forth lightning to strike down those who oppose their god.

Beliefs:
Stormcallers hold the unshakable belief that the seas and skies belong to Zephyros. They see storms as a divine test, separating the weak from the strong, and view destruction as a form of purification. To them, only the fiercest and most devoted deserve to survive the Tempest Lord’s trials.

Practices:
Stormcallers regularly conduct rituals during fierce storms. Their most revered ritual is the Drowning Sacrifice, where captives are offered to the sea to appease Zephyros. These rituals also include chants and invocations to summon powerful tempests, unleashing Zephyros’s destructive forces upon their enemies.

Hostile Behavior:
Stormcallers are highly aggressive toward ships, settlements, and individuals who do not honor Zephyros. They attack coastal towns and vessels with wind and lightning magic, summoning storms to disorient and overwhelm their foes. They favor ambushes, using their command of the weather to strike from the sea or coastal cliffs.

Common Locations:
The Stormcallers are most often found in and around Tempest Bay. They inhabit stormy coastal regions, maritime strongholds, and hidden coves where they can commune with their god and prepare for raids.

Appearance:
Stormcallers are typically dressed in robes or armor adorned with seashells, coral, and symbols of the storm. Their eyes glow with a faint bluish light, reflecting the energy of the tempest. Many carry storm-scarred weapons that crackle with electrical energy, and some are marked by lightning strikes, bearing scars from their god’s blessings.

Equipment:
Stormcallers wield enchanted tridents, spears, and conch shells infused with storm magic. High-ranking members ride Storm Serpents, serpentine creatures born from the violent tempests of Zephyros, to swiftly strike from the skies or the sea.

Weaknesses:
Stormcallers draw much of their power from storms and are weakened in calm weather or far from the sea. They are vulnerable when separated from their element, and their magic loses potency in serene or landlocked areas.
