Cause: #
Ignathor’s fury was provoked by the encroachment of mining operations deep within the mountains of the Frostvein Peaks, where veins of molten rock had long remained dormant. The Ironstone family, known for their smithing and mining prowess, inadvertently disturbed the ancient magma chambers, which were sacred to Ignathor. Feeling violated and enraged by the desecration of his domain, Ignathor unleashed his fiery wrath.
Story: #
The Frostvein Peaks were once known for their towering glaciers and pristine snows, home to the Frostmark and Ironstone families. However, this changed when deep mining operations by the Ironstone family unearthed vast caverns of molten rock, triggering seismic activity across the region.
As tremors shook the mountains, Ignathor, the Molten Lord, awoke from his slumber beneath the peaks. His eruption was a display of pure rage, sending molten lava flowing down the mountainsides, consuming everything in its path. The Frostmark family, known for their resilience, attempted to protect their lands by erecting barriers and redirecting the flow of lava, but many of their outposts and strongholds were destroyed.
The Ironstone family, responsible for the mining operations, saw their forges and homes consumed by fire. The once-icy region was transformed into a charred landscape of molten rock and sulfurous fumes. Many inhabitants were forced to flee, while others perished in the flames.
Outcome: #
- The Frostvein Peaks were permanently altered, with entire sections of the mountain range becoming volcanic wastelands.
- The Ironstone family suffered great losses, both in lives and in their ability to mine and forge. Their once-prosperous trade dwindled as they focused on rebuilding.
- The Frostmark family survived but retreated deeper into the mountains to more secure strongholds, vowing to never again disturb the Molten Lord’s domain.
- Ignathor remains a symbol of destruction and wrath, his legend warning against greed and the exploitation of the earth’s resources.
