Deity Worshipped:
Sylthara, Goddess of nature and shadows.
Overview:
The Shadow Druids are nature worshippers who have turned to the darker aspects of Sylthara, blending druidic magic with shadow to corrupt the natural world. They believe that only by embracing the balance between life and shadow can they truly wield the power of nature.
Leadership:
The Dark Tree Wardens lead the Shadow Druids, acting as the keepers of both nature and shadow magic within their ranks.
Beliefs:
They believe that the light and purity of nature must be tempered by shadow and death, allowing the cycle of life and decay to continue. Sylthara’s corruption is seen as a necessary part of nature’s order.
Practices:
The druids perform Rituals of Eclipse, where they summon shadow-infused natural creatures to spread darkness. They also corrupt sacred groves, turning once-thriving areas into shadowy versions of their former selves.
Hostile Behavior:
The Shadow Druids use corrupted nature magic in combat, summoning shadow-beasts, poisonous plants, and using shapeshifting abilities to ambush their foes. They favor guerrilla tactics, striking from the darkness of the forests.
Common Locations:
The Eldergrove Woods are their primary domain, where they use the natural cover of the forest to hide their dark magic.
Appearance:
They wear twisted, dark green and black robes that blend with the forest. Their eyes often have a faint green or black glow, and their bodies are marked with shadowy vines.
Equipment:
They carry enchanted staves that allow them to control plants, summon shadows, and command the creatures of the forest. Some druids use shadow-infused bows to fire corrupted arrows.
Weaknesses:
They are vulnerable to sunlight and radiant magic, which can dispel their shadow-based powers and purify corrupted areas.
